Day 70

Easter Prep

I thawed out the #gfree pie crust and the lamb meat for tomorrow's Easter dinner with Mom.  The dough rolled out fine and baked up great.  Good to know that #gfree pie crusts can be frozen.  I cooked up the lemon and egg custard, whipped up the meringue, and assembled the classic lemon chiffon pie for tomorrow's dessert.  The result:

With the pie out of the way, it was time to deal with the main course, Nigella Lawson's excellent Greek lamb stew ("How to Eat," page 95-6).  Here's the video snippet of the first step, browning the stew meat.

Here's the penultimate result, the stew ready for the oven.  Somehow, when it's done simmering in the oven for 2-3 hours, those carrot floating on top are the best ever carrots you will ever taste

Lunch

During a quick lunch run for fast food, I came across an accident on 4th St.  Some poor fellow was rear-ended and and got a ride in an ambulance for his trouble.  The photo below shows the ambulance leaving while the police and the tow truck driver clean up broken glass, plastic, and metal.  Glass is sort of the ultimate dash cam when you think about it.

Flight Time

After a breezy, cool, cloudy day, the evening turned dead calm... perfect for helicopter flying.  I managed some long duration flights and even a few soft landings(!).  More uploads tomorrow from the cockpit of the helicopter itself via WiSpi's on-board camera.  Here are a still pic and a video snippet #throughglass.

The Porch

At day's end, we were able to enjoy the cool ambiance of the newly enclosed back porch.

Ready for Easter

Besides sampling the finished lamb stew for quality control purposes, we set up the flower arrangements for tomorrow. At this level of magnification, it's hard to tell which one was taken #throughglass or with my Droid.  (Answers below.)

Answer:  Tulips--#throughglass.  Daisies--Droid.
