Day 14

A Saturday with Glass

Today's morning chores were pretty much Glass-free, but as I headed out for lunch with Mom, it was "Glass on."  We headed off to Annie's Soup Kitchen, a venerable Albuquerque establishment for brunch.  Mom had the chicken and green chile quiche; I had the avocado and bacon omelet smothered in green chile.  :-)))

Afterwards, we raided Sears and bought her a new stationary exercise bicycle.  The ones at her assisted living facility are either too large in general or too difficult to mount.  After her broken hip last December and the excellent PT she's gotten, we don't want her to lose the strength she's regained.

Back at her apartment, I took a moment to photograph the lovely flower arrangement she had gotten at Trader Joe's.  This is the second shot; the first one clipped the flowers.  It's still tricky to align the camera precisely.

Outside the Woodmark, an all too familiar sight was playing out--paramedics and an ambulance.  Mom has taken at least three rides like that, but has always made it back.  At least the lady being transported (not photographed) was conscious, alert, and sitting up on the gurney.

This video snippet does point out how Glass can document emergencies.  A tip of the hat to the ABQ Fire Department and the paramedics for their never-ending and often unsung service to our community.  Thanks, gang!

Late in the day I had some time to update my Android SDK and associated files.  Next week my goal is to breakthrough to full-featured app development.  Eclipse, here I come.
